Words to his heart

Tim and I decided to make a list of all the words that Holden knows the other day and we were amazed when the total reached 25! I am so proud of my smart little boy. He can also identify 8 body parts!
We have also discovered the way to Holden's heart is reading. If you want to win him over pull him on your lap with a book. He loves reading!! He will bring you books to read over and over again. Mommy and Daddy always get sick of it way before Holden does. It is easily his favorite pastime.

Swimming

Holden has had so much fun this Easter!! We went to an egg hunt yesterday with a local mommies group and he had a blast finding all the eggs and putting them in his basket. He didn't want mommy or daddy to hold his basket either. He had to do it himself!
Then we went to Grandpa Archibald's for another egg hunt in the backyard. He had a lot of fun running around with his cousins finding all the eggs and one big easter bunny too!!
Then today he got to find all the eggs that mommy and daddy hid for him. He liked the ones that looked like balls the best. He also got a sand and water table to play with. We need to put it together, but I'm sure he is going to love it!!

Sick on Vacation

Holden was diagnosed with an ear and an eye infection the day before we left on vacation. Poor little guy! He was a trooper, though. He didn't mind the plane ride at all and had lots of fun at Sea World and the Zoo. He LOVED the elephants!!!
He also gave mommy his eye infection and it turns out it's pink eye. Lucky me!

Smarty Pants Holden

I just realize every day how smart Holden is! He now can point to his belly, eyes, ears, nose, hair, teeth and feet. And most of the time can point to them on you as well. We've only worked on a few of those. It just amazes me how he picks stuff up and I have no idea!!

Croup

Holden has croup. It has been a horrible few days. He still has a fever and isn't eating much. Hopefully it starts getting better soon. I feel bad for the little guy. He is obviously miserable. He mostly just sits on my lap and watches tv all day. And he almost never watches tv for more than two minutes on a normal day.

Personality

We are seeing Holden's personality come out more and more. He is stubborn just like both mommy and daddy. Go figure? LOL. He will almost never eat anything you feed him anymore. He has to feed himself. He also has to explore everything. If he can open it he will. He opens all the cupboards and drawers and plays with everything. He loves playing with the dog food and water even though he gets in trouble for those. He has also learned how to turn on the washer and dryer so he does that as often as he can get in the laundry room. He just has to touch and feel everything! Makes him really smart, but a pain in the butt sometimes. It's a good thing we love him.

Scary Times

Holden cut his lip and gums open pretty badly last night and gave mom and dad quite a scare! We didn't take him to the doctor, but we weren't sure if that was the right decisions. So when he hit it on something again today and it started bleeding we decided to take him in. He didn't get stitches, but the doc said if it was almost anywhere else he would have. So for now he's on a soft foods diet with emphasis on popsicles and ice cream. Our poor little guy!!
