Holden's First Primary Talk!

Holden was asked to give a talk in Primary last week. His subject was "Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer." My first thought was "Really? My son is 3! He has no idea what this means! And is he going to be willing to talk in front of all those people?"
I should never have worried! We sat down for a few minutes on Saturday (after I scoured the internet looking for an appropriate talk for a 3 year old) and talked about what it meant for Jesus to be our Savior and Redeemer. It then took only a second to break this subject into three year old terms.
On Sunday while waiting for Holden to give his talk in Primary the Teacher announced that they would be singing a song and then they would hear a talk from Holden. Holden rushed up to the podium, grabbed the microphone and started to talk. We had to help him sit back down and explain that it wasn't his turn yet. (Obviously not scared to talk in front of people!) He then waited at the front until it was his turn. When it was finally time for his talk he, again, rushed to the podium, grabbed the microphone and started to talk. I have no idea what he was saying, but I'm sure he did. I then whispered in his ear the words we had talked about. Holden's talk consisted of four sentences. "I love Jesus. Jesus is my friend. Jesus died so I could be happy. I want to be like Jesus." He delivered them perfectly and sat down.
I was so proud of him! He did wonderful and wasn't shy at all! He was actually a bit overzealous. LOL
But in those four sentences he also showed me how simple it can be. I think too often we try to complicate things. When really it just boils down to those four sentences. I'm so thankful for my wonderful little boy! Who knew we'd get a child who so loved being the center of attention (neither Tim or I like it much).

Update! (Yes, this is a lame title)

My blog sucks lately. I'm sorry! If you really want to know what is going on in my life just click the Bargain Divas logo on my sidebar. It has taken over!! I'm loving finding all the deals and sharing them with everyone. But at this point it is all consuming. I have my wonderful boys and I do Bargain Divas. There is time for nothing else! He he.
I'm trying hard to find some balance in my life right now. This seems to be a constant struggle. I have good days and not so good ones. Today was a good one!! It was a beautiful day so I put my boys in the wagon and we went for a walk around the neighborhood. We made brownies and we pulled out the camera and finally took some new pictures of the cutest boys in the world!! Here are a couple of them as well as a quick update.

Holden is AMAZING! Have I said that before? He is so smart and always wants to know everything about everything! He knows quite a few of his letters and what sounds they make. That is definitely the kick he is on. He wants to know what letter every word starts with. If we tell him the sound he can usually tell you what letter it is.
He can also count to 16 and is starting to recognize the numbers he sees. He is still a little stinker, but he is so dang cute!! Sometimes we probably let him get away with too much. But look at that face! How can anyone resist?

Beckett is so fun! He is getting really close to walking. He has really started practicing in the last few days. He's standing up on his own all the time and wanting Tim or me to hold his hands while walking as well. He is a daredevil and I'm sure will be terrorizing my house to a new degree any day now.
He just got his fourth tooth today! He also seems to be becoming a Daddy's boy. Holden is a Momma's boy through and through so it will be nice to have one of each.

So there's my quick update. Hopefully I'm able to update a little more often so there can be more details. But most of you are friends with me on facebook and/or have my phone number. So if you want to know more then ask!

52 Blessings: Brothers!

A lot of you will be getting these pictures on some Valentine cards, but they were just too cute not to post! I love that my boys love each other so much! I love that each can make the other smile so easily. I'm so glad that they have each other. And I love even more that I get to witness it. I'm not sure where I would be in my life without my siblings. How could I ever deny that to my boys?

Fat Baby Beckett

I can't believe Beckett is 9 months old already! He is growing up so fast!
He had his doctor appointment today and he is still my Fatty Patty. He is 22 lbs. 10 oz. and in the 90th percentile for weight and head circumference. (He got a big head from his Dad.) And he is 28.5 inches long which puts him in the 50th percentile for height. So you can see that he is FAT! We have moved him to mostly 12 to 18 month clothes as the smaller sizes cannot contain ever growing belly. He now has three teeth and it looks like a few more are on their way.
He is crawling everywhere and is also walking along the edges of everything. If you put food in front of him he will get to it faster than you can blink. Last week he stood up all by himself! I'm sure he's going to be walking in no time and then I'm really in trouble. He already gets into much more stuff than Holden ever did. He can also book it up the stairs at lightening speed.
He says Mama and Dada now. And we think he might also be saying No and BuBu (Brother), but we aren't positive on those yet. I am amazed by him every day.

Christmas Eve

We spend every Christmas Eve at my Mom's house eating yummy food and opening presents. We cram the whole family into my mom's living room and try to open presents. It's chaos and bliss all mixed into one. I love spending time with my family!
This year Holden got two of his favorite gifts on Christmas Eve: A spongebob bed tent and a rifle.

Mostly the guys just sit in the family room and watch TV.

Cookies at Grandma's

One of our family traditions is going to my Mom's and making sugar cookies with the kids sometime in December. We always make sure to make a cookie of our hand print as that is what we did when we were little also. Here are some pictures of our fun times! We were also lucky enough to have my brother and his kids in town from California. Woo hoo!

Holden's Christmas Program!

Holden had his Christmas program on December 17th. And let me just say if you have never been to a 3 year old Christmas program you are missing out! We laughed almost the whole time! Mostly because Holden just sat there and did almost nothing. But the other kids yelling and making faces was also hilarious! Here are a few pics as well of our cute Holden. We have some video also if blogger will ever let me post it. You can watch Holden stand there for two minutes. He didn't sing or do actions or anything! When we play the video at home he will sing the song and do the actions. Guess he just doesn't like being in front of a crowd.
