All about Jacki

For those of you who read both my bargain blog and my personal blog, Sorry! But I thought this was a good post to include here. I don't think I've ever done a Getting to know me type post before. I like the idea, though. I think I'm going to do a post for each member of my family. And if you have any actual personal questions I'm probably more likely to answer them on here.

My name is Jacki. LOL. I am 30 years old and have been married to my wonderful husband, Tim for 8 1/2 years. I have two handsome little boys. Three year old Holden and almost one year old Beckett.

I love the color pink. My favorite book is The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley and I am extremely sarcastic.
I have always loved a good bargain, but only recently discovered how much I enjoy helping others get great deals as well. I rarely pay full price for anything, but I have to say I have a weakness for purses. Although I still can't bring myself to pay full price for a brand name. A good knock off can soothe my bargain soul wonderfully.

I am thankful to be a stay at home mom. However, if I ever needed to venture back into the workforce I would love to work with kids. I was a substitute teacher for years and know that as far as jobs go that one was made for me.
I'm very happy in general. I enjoy making others laugh and prefer to see the funny side of situations. I'm very easygoing and open minded. It is very hard to offend me.

I look up to my Mom more than she will ever know and my best friend in the whole world is my sister, Becky.
So there's me in a nutshell. Want to know anything else? Feel free to ask away! I'm not promising I will answer every question, but I'll probably answer most.

Disney on Ice!

I took Holden to see Disney on Ice on March 10 and we had a blast! We have never been before, but I think we will go every time they are here. It was worth every penny that I paid. Holden LOVED it! My sister Becky and two of her kids, Colton and Lexi also came with us. It was lots of fun! Here are a few pics and a video of Holden before the show.

 This is mostly what I saw all night. He was riveted by what was happening on the ice and was really mad at intermission. He DID NOT want it to be over.

This is why I love coupons!

This is not something I would normally post on my personal blog, but I'm really excited about this one.

THIS is why I love using coupons! I got everything in the picture above today at Smith's for only $18.21 and got another coupon for my next shopping trip!

If you ever doubted coupons or figured they weren't worth clipping here is proof that they do.

It was so much fun! We've had some great responses from the show appearance. Thank you everyone for supporting us!

I felt like it went really well other than the hosts asking us a few questions we weren't prepared for. We didn't have even close to enough time to go over all that we had planned and the table wasn't big enough to hold all of our free stuff. But it was a great experience.

I'm a published writer!

That's right, you read my title correctly. I'm a published author. Can I call myself an author after writing one article? I'm pretty sure I can and will. I think you should all now refer to me as Author Jacki. What do you think?

Okay, back to the real stuff. I wrote an article for The Utah Baby Guide and it's in this month's issue. Woo hoo! I'm not getting paid, but I am getting free advertising for my Bargain Blog so that is payment enough.

Bargain Divas on Good Things Utah!

I'm so excited for this! And I'm starting to get a little nervous. But being on Good Things Utah should be awesome for our blog! If you don't know yet, Becky and I will be appearing on Good Things Utah on Wednesday March 4th at 10:00 am to promote our awesome bargain blog Bargain Divas.

My wonderful friend Kris came over to my house today to cut and color my hair so that I can look as good as possible on TV. I've been agonizing over my outfit for weeks. And now it's almost here! Becky and I are rounding up all of our free stuff (and there is a lot) to take to the show. Make sure to tune in to see a visual of just how much stuff you can get for free in a short amount of time. And we'll be having a giveaway also. More free stuff!

And if you have any great tips for me to stop being nervous and just be my doofy, outgoing self with women I don't know at all while being filmed, let me know. Jenny, picturing the audience in their G's is NOT going to help me. LOL
