JJ: Who are you closest to in your immediate family? How did your relationship grow?

I am easily closest to my sister, Becky. It wasn't always this way, but I've always looked up to her. I remember being fairly young (tween?) and staying up late one night while she told me all about the birds and the bees. She has no recollection of this ever happening, but I assure you, it did.

Becky is also the first person (other than Jon) that I told that I was pregnant. She took me to Planned Parenthood to confirm it and told me she would support me in any decision I made. We then had a while where we just weren't as close. Honestly, I'm not even sure what happened to bring us back together. Maybe it was her watching Holden when I went back to work after he was born? No matter what it was, it happened. She is my rock and my best friend. I talk to her about everything and anything. She can make me laugh and she can make me cry. If I go more than two days without talking to her I feel like something is missing.

I'm so thankful that my sister is also my best friend.

More Pics of the Cutest Boys in the World!

We won a photo shoot from Fotofly and had the boys pictures taken. We were their first ever outside photo shoot! I think the boys had fun running around outdoors, but they were definitely sick of pictures at the end. It's a good thing they can be so easily bought by fruit snacks.

I was amazed that I could talk Tim into getting family pictures taken again this year. But I'm happy that I did and I'm happy with the results. Check out some of my favorites.

Halloween Fun With Dog the Bounty Hunter

I've already posted pics of the boys in their super cute Halloween costumes this year. But I thought I would post pics of Tim and I also. That's right, I convinced Tim to dress up this year! I don't think he has dressed up even once in the 11 years that we have been together. So this one will be remembered for a long time.

So here we are!

Dog the Bounty Hunter and his busty wife, Beth. What do you think? Does Tim not look hilarious!? I think I laughed every time I looked at him that night. The mullet was out of control. The pictures just don't do it justice.

Trunk or Treat

Saturday we ventured out for the first of many Halloween parties we have this year. I am a member of Salt Lake City Mommies and every year they have a Trunk or Treat for the kids. They have games, prizes, and of course candy! The kids had a lot of fun and really enjoyed getting candy. Plus, they love being Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. And how stinkin' cute are they!?

As we walked around to the different vehicles to trick or treat Holden decided to put a spin on the classic saying. Instead of just saying trick or treat he took a page from Charlie Brown and said "Trick or Treat, Money or Eats" to every single car every single time. Totally his dad's son.

Caramel Apples

Becky invited us to her house to make caramel apples with them. We have done caramel apples before, but usually I'm lazy and just buy the caramel wraps that are super simple and easy. So this was a new experience for them. I think the kids loved it.
Beckett did not want to show me his apple. So he was hiding his apple behind his back. He also DID NOT want to dip it in caramel. He just wanted to eat it.
Finally showing off his apple.

Holden got much more into the caramel part then Beckett. He was very serious when turning his apple in the caramel and in the sprinkles.
The finished product. Although when it was time to eat the apple Holden only had one bite before he was done. Apparently it's more about the process than the finished product.
